Window Tint That Makes Every Drive Better
Does your car feel like an oven after sitting in the sun? The right window tint can help. At GlänzenPPF + Ceramic Coatings in Coeur d’Alene, we install auto window tint to make your vehicle look cleaner, feel cooler, and protect against sun exposure.
Window tint not only darkens glass but also enhances comfort, reduces glare, adds privacy, and blocks UV rays that cause fading. Carbon tint matches factory privacy glass, while ceramic tint offers superior heat rejection for added comfort.
We offer two window tint packages for different needs and budgets: one for style and another for heat and UV protection. Each installation occurs in a clean shop with air filtration and surgical-grade water. Pricing starts below and is confirmed after booking, plus Idaho State Sales Tax (6%).

Ceramic Window Tint-Real Comfort
Ceramic Window Tint is built for drivers who want more than a darker window. This is the comfort-focused upgrade that helps reduce interior heat by up to 80%, blocks harmful UV rays, cuts glare, and helps protect your vehicle’s interior from fading over time.
Most customers choose ceramic tint for all side and rear windows, with the option to add clear ceramic tint over the windshield for even more heat and UV defense without making the windshield look dark. If your vehicle sits in the sun, carries kids or passengers often, or you simply want a more comfortable drive, ceramic tint is the package we recommend.
*Vehicles with larger windows or more tedious construction, such as Ford trucks, full-size SUVs, and German vehicles, are typically an additional $100 for the sides and rear package.
Carbon Window Tint-Just For Looks
Carbon tint is the right choice if your main goal is to improve the look of your vehicle without investing in maximum heat rejection. This package is commonly used to match the front two windows to factory privacy glass on the rear, giving your vehicle a cleaner, more finished appearance.
While carbon window tint provides a solid UV block and helps reduce glare, it offers minimal heat rejection at just 25%. If you mostly care about styling, privacy, and a more uniform look, this is a great starting point. If you want a noticeably cooler cabin and better comfort for your family, ceramic tint is the better upgrade.
Idaho Window Tint Regulations for Cars
Window tint makes your vehicle look better and feel better to drive, but it should also be something you feel confident using every day. Nobody wants to invest in a new tint only to second-guess whether it is too dark for Idaho roads.
In Idaho, window tint darkness is measured by how much visible light can pass through the glass. That means the lower the number, the darker the tint. For most vehicles, front side windows need to stay lighter than the rear windows, while windshield tint is limited to a strip along the top of the glass.
During your appointment, Glänzen PPF + Ceramic Coatings can help you compare shades and choose an option that fits your style, comfort goals, and intended use. If you want a darker shade than Idaho allows for street use, that tint is considered for off-road use only and is installed at your own risk.
Auto Window Tint - Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between carbon and ceramic tint?
Carbon tint is best if you mainly want a darker, cleaner look. Ceramic tint is the better choice if you want stronger heat rejection, better comfort, glare reduction, and added UV blocking for your cabin.
How dark should I go with my window tint?
That depends on your vehicle, your style, and how you plan to use it. We can walk you through different shade options before installation so you feel confident choosing a tint that looks good and makes sense for daily driving.
Can you tint my windshield?
We offer full windshield ceramic tint for drivers who want more heat and UV reduction without making the windshield look dark. A windshield strip is also available if you mainly want glare reduction along the top of the glass.
How long does window tint take to cure?
Cure time depends on the weather, temperature, and how much moisture remains under the film after installation. We will give you clear aftercare instructions before you leave, including when to roll down your windows and clean the glass.
Will my window tint look perfect right away?
Fresh tint may show light haze, moisture pockets, or small visual changes while it cures. We install tint in one of the cleanest shop environments in the area, but small dust specks or factory glass texture can be normal in this industry.

Benefits of Choosing Automotive Window Tint
Improved Privacy
Window tint also gives your vehicle a more private, comfortable feel. Darker film can make it harder for people to see directly into your cabin, which is helpful when you are parked, running errands, or carrying personal items inside. You can choose a shade that fits your style, comfort level, and local regulations without making the vehicle feel too dark.
Easier Interior Upkeep
Sun exposure, glare, and heat can make your cabin feel worn down faster than it should. Quality window tint helps reduce the harsh sunlight coming through the glass, which can help slow fading on seats, dashboards, trim, and other interior surfaces. When your cabin is exposed to less direct solar stress, it is easier to keep the inside looking newer and feeling better over time.
Better Comfort from the Elements
Sunny days, open highways, and winter road glare can be uncomfortable without the right film on your glass. Ceramic window tint helps reduce the heat you feel inside the vehicle, cuts down on glare, and blocks harmful UV rays during everyday driving. That means a cooler cabin, less squinting, and a more comfortable ride for you, your family, and your passengers.
